UPS

Campaign

The annual UPS/United Way campaign was first
initiated in 1982. Although participation is completely
voluntary, dedicated UPSers have accepted the challenge
of improving the quality of life in their communities by
contributing to the campaign and supporting their local
United Way.
The Leadership Giving Program was established to recognize
those employees who help better their communities through
increased participation in the campaign. The Leadership
level is reached when any full-time employee contributes
$750 or more ($150 for part-time employees) to the campaign
for that year. Each year, believed to have started in 1992,
the year's Leadership Givers are honored with a distinctive
Leadership lapel pin as a token of gratitude.
Starting with the 2003 campaign, an additional leadership
giving level has been added, which represents the first
change in the Leadership Giving Program in almost 15 years.
This new level of leadership giving is called Legacy Leadership
and provides an even greater opportunity for UPS people
to support their community. Legacy Leadership is reached
when any full- or part-time employee makes a total annual
contribution of $1,000 or more.
